My mom still has a set of Chateau Ste Michelle glasses given away as some kind of promo item in maybe 1986.  I remember when I was a kid, I thought they were fancy because of the etching.

I like Chateau Ste. Michelle’s stuff, but my boss once cautioned me against being seen buying it in public , since its made by our top competitor.

I was planning to make a stop there and hopefully take a spin around their test drive track as well.

Hell, if COVID wasn’t a thing I’d be in Tokyo right now living it up, ready to come home on the 1st. I’m still upset about this.

Hopefully you didn’t eat the entire cost of the trip because it was early in the outbreak and nobody was giving refunds, like I did for a 2-week trip to Asia I canceled  in February...ugh.

I’m supposed to get a refund, still waiting on it. I had bought the tickets back in November at an absurdly low price, ~650 CAD round-trip with one-stop each way.

Luckily, my friend and I had not booked anything else since we wanted to see how the situation was developing over there first. We had planned where we wanted to go, but worst case scenario we would only lose out on the ticket cost . However, I was promised a refund so I’ll tell them to eat shit if I don’t get it.

I got some back from the airlines and a couple of hotels, TBF, so I’d expect that to be fine. It was the travel agent that booked the big package part (small-ship  river cruise down the Mekong) that fucked us.
